Come to the Rattlesnake Hills Wine Trail for the Vineyard to Vintner Weekend this June 18 and 19. Our participating wineries will be providing special vineyard tours and winemaking demonstrations that will give you an inside look at what goes into growing wine grapes and the winemaking process.
Bonair Winery
Gail, the author of the Rattlesnake Hills AVA will invite a gathering up at the Morrison Vineyard, the oldest vineyard in the Rattlesnake Hills . He will talk about the uniqueness of the AVA and the history of the area. Meet at Bonair Winery at 10:00 and 2:00 on Saturday and 10:00 on Sunday for a trip up to the Morrison Vineyard and an expansive view of the valley and Cascade Range. You will learn about ancient lava flows, flood of biblical proportion, desert ecology, geology of the Rattlesnake Hills, and why it is Washington’s premier growing region. No charge.
Dineen Vineyards
Join Dineen Vineyards for a “Wines in the Vines” Experience! Owner & Vintner, Marissa Dineen, and Winemaker & Viticulturalist David Rodriguez will visit varietal blocks and taste Dineen Vineyard wines next to the vines that produced the wines. Light bites to accompany wines are included. Peppered into the tour will be stories of our farm, including anecdotes of our sustainable wine-growing practices and how we employ technology to ensure the highest quality fruit. Become a winemaker of your own wine this weekend. Join new Hyatt winemaker (of 30 years in WA State) in learning the art of blending. Saturday or Sunday. One event per day, 12am at Hyatt Vineyards. Paradisos del Sol Winery and Organic Vineyard
Paul Vandenberg, winegrower of Paradisos del Sol Winery and Organic Vineyard, will take you on a vineyard tour of our on-site organic no-pesticide vineyard comparing ours to conventional vineyards. He will share insights of 39 vintages as a vineyard manager, executive winemaker, cellar rat, and consultant here in Washington. Then he will personally guide you through a tasting of our wines accompanied by very light appetizers. 9 AM to 11 AM, Saturday and Sunday.
Silver Lake/Roza Estates
LEARN HOW TO DISTILL. We will be hosting a demonstration on how to distill wine for vodka and brandy on our Mile Hi Still. Learn the basic principles and see a live demonstration. We will conclude with an exercise on how to pair pizza with cocktails. Price is $25 and includes samples of cocktails and pizza. Saturday June 18 and Sunday June 19 at 1 pm. Taste a history of our wines, all made with grapes grown the the Rattlesnake Hills. Library wine tasting will be available on Saturday, June 18th. Tasting fee is $20/person.
Tanjuli Winery
Ask? the Winemaker , Saturday June 18th 11 am to 5 pm. This is your chance to pick the brain of Tom Campbell, a 41 year veteran of the Washington scene. Queries about winemaking, grape growing and the colorful characters of the early days of Washington wine will be answered.
Two Mountain Winery
Walk the vineyard with owner and vineyard manager, Patrick Rawn, and get the 411 on what certified sustainability is all about. Tour available 11am both Saturday and Sunday – no charge.
